In this relaxing workshop, you will learn how to dye and paint with frozen, fresh and dried flowers to create breathtaking masterpieces on silk. While gently soaking petals, we will learn how to prepare fabrics for natural dyes, explore how to extract color from flowers and natural dye stuffs, and experiment with advanced floral dyeing techniques you can all do at home! You will discover how steam can transmute assorted flowers into beautiful patterns on your fabric. This class will also cover using natural additives to create cosmic patterns. We will also explore medicinal plants and using bundle dyeing as a healing ritual. You will create your own peace silk scarf and swatch book and leave with knowledge of how to create paint out of petals.
